| Minneapolis Marathon Race Day Nears |

With just four weeks to go before the Minneapolis Marathon at the Depot (and the half marathon and 5K race), time is running out for last-minute planning by organizers and training for runners. But organizers say it's all coming together very well.
As the weeks have gone by, organizer John Larson has been hearing a lot from runners who are signed up for this event, many of them have very supportive comments. Larson says participants are looking forward to "a course with a start and finish near each other, not a point-to-point. They said it's easier for their family and friends to watch and enjoy." They were also fond of the scenic course, free training groups, and community involvement. Larson also says runners wanted a change. They were looking for "a spring marathon in Minneapolis that does not require distance travel and is a viable alternative to ones that gouge participants with high hotel prices and two or three-night minimums." The Minneapolis Renaissance at the Depot is providing specials for runners -- with no minimum length of stay. To ensure you get the deal, you want to visit the marathon website first.
Besides writing for RunningMoms.com, blogging, and of course daily household management, Amy Leger also is the Minneapolis Running Examiner for Examiner.com.
